Why is Harlan Coben’s The Stranger not a movie? This book was so good. So good, in fact, that I am giving it a 4 Book Mark review right off the bat. Coben gave me chills repeatedly. I actually gasped out loud while reading several of the chapters. GASPED! That rarely happens. And for it to happen repeatedly, never happens. The characters were good, the concept was new, the description was clear, and this book moves fast. There is a great story development in each chapter. It makes you excited to turn the next page the entire way through.
I bought this book for my husband. When we travel, my husband likes for me to pick out a read for him. The book had to match the location, so I chose this book for a trip to a cabin in the North Georgia Mountains. I wanted something a bit creepy, and I think I did a pretty good job. He enjoyed the book, and his review made me want to read it, which is a big deal, because this is only the second book we have ever shared.
This story is about a man “Adam Price” who is married and has two sons. One day, a “stranger” tells him a secret, and that secret changes his life forever. This book has twists and turns, and a unique story line. I am so glad to have stumbled upon this author. I look forward to snuggling up with my Goodreads account and adding more of his books to my Must Read list.
This book does talk about murder and prostitution, so it is for a mature audience.
